DeWitt Charter Township Community Services Facility DeWitt, Michigan A
new community services center was designed for DeWitt Charter Township as the direct
result of a space needs study and master plan that Hobbs+Black completed in October 1997.
The study involved the existing township hall, administrative offices, and police
department facilities. Located
in a rural setting on Herbison Road, the building and the site were designed
to be compatible with surrounding residential subdivisions. The 24,000 square foot
building is divided into three primary parts - board chamber, departmental offices,
and police department. A
public entry and lobby provide direct access to the board chamber and departmental
offices, while the police department has a separate public entrance. Access is limited
between the public and police areas. Each primary area listed has been designed for
future expansion of nearly 10 percent of the current floor area.
