Detroit Medical Center Children’s Hospital of Michigan: Rehabilitation Center Detroit, Michigan Hobbs+Black
provided complete programming, planning and design for the retrofit of a new
anesthesiology administrative and teaching department, the first totally robotic
pharmacy in the DMC and the State of Michigan, a “city park and village” themed
inpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation center, a state-of-the-art radiology
film file center and Quality Control Center, a just-in-time materials management
center, the complete retrofit-in-place without loss of normal operation of the central
processing department, coordination of operational and physical requirements for a
case cart system for surgery, and new dental clinic. Hobbs+Black
is currently engaged in a series of planning consultations with the emerging
ambulatory Detroit Medical Center. These planning efforts are helping to investigate
and facilitate potential solutions to the proposed consolidation of most ambulatory
outpatient services in the UHC and Harper Pro locations. Major site access and
circulation issues are being studied to facilitate this new initiative. Access
within UHC and Harper Pro to the internal circulation systems are being studied as
well to provide convenient user friendly access, as well as operational efficiencies.
