Immanuel's Temple Community Church Lansing, Michigan This new church was designed and constructed for a nondenominational congregation. The 64,000 square foot building, with an exterior of textured concrete masonry with precast concrete trim, is comprised of a sanctuary, administration offices, a multipurpose room, and an educational wing.
When stepping through the church’s main entrance, a procession of specially designed transitional spaces creates an environment aimed to lift the spirits of all who enter in preparation for visiting the sanctuary. The rooms evolve from a low-ceiling vestibule to a sloped-ceiling foyer that rises to meet the high-ceiling of the entrance hall. The multi-purpose room was designed for small weddings, funerals, and baptism ceremonies, as well as banquets. There is a full commercial kitchen adjacent to the multi-purpose room. The baptistry is located behind large solid oak doors at one end of the multi-purpose room. The classroom wing is designed to accommodate the church’s religious education program for both adults and children.
