Architect – Project Manager

In this position, you will be the main client contact and oversee all aspects of the project, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, zoning and building codes, and building materials and systems. The position is one of leadership and includes mentoring and developing other staff members.

This position may be exposed to a variety of healthcare, education, civic, housing, and commercial architectural projects. Architecture education, background, and prior work experience is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

·        Interfaces with principals, project teams, consultants, and clients.

·        Works in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline design teams.

·        Conduct site planning and zoning research.

·        Attend planning and zoning, and/or municipal meetings.

·        Provide code review and analysis for project team.

·        Creates detailed plans for complex architectural construction drawings.

·        Identifies and maintains project schedules, cost projections, and budget estimates.

·        Direct, supervise, and confirm activities of project team engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for all project phases

·        Utilize Bluebeam to organize project material and review drawings.

·        Preparation and coordination of bid packages.

·        Confer with consultants to ensure standards are met and necessary permits obtained.

·        Perform and/or oversee construction administration tasks, including submittal review, fieldwork, and documentation.

·        Maintains and complies with Hobbs+Black and client project standards.

·        Competent project time and expense documentation skills.

·        Understands proposals, contracts and identifies scope of additional services.

·        May participate in the pursuit and marketing of potential projects.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field with technical architecture experience.

·        8+ years of technical post-graduate work experience in an architectural firm is required.

·        Technical knowledge, development, coordination, and review of construction documentation.

·        Effective organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

·        Commitment to and experience with sustainable design.

·        Technical problem-solving skills.

·        Proficient in building codes and ADA requirements.

·        Consistent ability to successfully meet deadlines.

·        Effective communication, negotiation, and consulting skills.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams.

·        Cost estimating skills preferred.

·        Architectural license preferred or equivalent work experience.

·        English language communication and client interface skills.

·        Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for sponsorship.
